Cravings
Food cravings are like conflicts amidst different desires. These desires may be uncontrollable till we get that particular desire. Cravings are not necessarily our needs but a result of desires or want.
No matter the level of food cravings, it gets to a point where you no longer feel the desires so strong. Food cravings are immensely common and more than 90% of people experience them.
Everyone craves food differently. Sometimes food cravings occur when you have less money at hand.
Food cravings as an undergraduate could show up when under pressure or stress without considering the state of your pocket. Being a foodie, you tend to eat more.
Oftentimes, people crave snacks even after eating a delicious meal with a reason to keep their mouths engaged.
As Africans, the majority are used to a routine and boring food. However, food cravings occur when you need to try new varieties of food aside from the ones you have been eating.
It often propels us to place an order online or at a nearby restaurant to satiate ourselves.
Women and Cravings
Women turn to tasty food which is not hunger driven to make themselves comfortable and to wipe out unpleasant feelings in those funny periods.
Food cravings could be before the monthly period or during. However, we get rid of those cravings when we know our body type and handle our desires effectively through dieting.
Food cravings for pregnant women are literally out of hand. For them, it mostly occurs when they desire to be pampered or at times when they need their husband to join them in the pregnancy journey.
Their cravings could be a result of seeing food, hearing of food, or smelling food.
These food cravings blind them to their weight as many don't pay attention to them. 80% of pregnant women have weird cravings.
The monthly period which comes with food cravings makes women ask questions like “why am I not a man”; then you hear “I need chips or I need Sweet”.
The best joke which is true is depriving yourself of food with reasons to reduce weight, maintain shape, and yet, still crave food.
For instance a student on diet, there is a high tendency to crave food or junk which is to be avoided.
It is funny when they end up defeating their plans on dieting. Not eating as much as you want because of some plan to reduce calories, and other reasons end up being the major factors of food cravings.
However, effective handling of food cravings is essential to health. When you have cravings for something sweet, take fruits that will help fill you up and secure good health.
Also, ensure you exercise healthily.
