The best part of the Eid-el Kabir celebration is not just about inviting relatives and friends to the Eid feast but also about spending quality time together, eating as a family, and reminiscing about it. That's why Eid excites me!
As Eid-el Kabir is central to meat, we always have lots of meat to cook, fry, and share. This coming Eid, I have decided to prepare one or two of these delicious dishes to accompany my party Jollof or fried rice to the table.
Starting with a simple appetizer;
1. MEATBALLS:
MeatBalls is the perfect snack to serve as an appetizer.,
A meatball is ground meat rolled into a small ball, sometimes along with other ingredients, such as bread crumbs, minced onion, eggs, butter, and seasoning. Meatballs are cooked by frying, baking, or steaming with any sauce of your choice.
2. KEBAB
Kebabs are beautiful, roasted, slightly charred, and flavorful meat!
Kebabs consist of cut-up or ground meat, sometimes with vegetables. Although kebabs are typically cooked on a skewer over a fire, you can also prepare kebabs in an oven.
For this occasion, I would prefer to prepare Liver and kidney kebabs, because they are delicious and also easy to munch!
3. GIZDODO
Gizdodo is a simple dish that delivers great flavor and is also easy to prepare!
Boiled pieces of gizzard are deep-fried and mixed fried plantains poured over a simmering pepper and Tomato Sauce, with Onions, Green bell peppers, and yellow bell peppers and Orange bell peppers.
I specifically love gizdodo because of its great taste and how beautiful it always looks. It would also be nice to add plantain vibes to the Eid feast!
MY REFRESHING DRINKS IDEA
There's really no better way to enjoy meals than sipping delicious refreshing drinks. Eid feast is not complete without chilled, refreshing drinks.
Drinks can be prepared and refrigerated a day before.
1. ORANGE FRUIT JUICE
Sugar-free orange juice has never tasted so good as when it’s straight from the fruit! It's all-natural, with no color, and no added sugar!
I know making freshly squeezed orange juice may take a little more effort than buying juice from a store, but the difference in the quality of flavor and freshness is incomparable. Fresh orange juice is fruity and sweet.
